Cruising while not drinking alcohol; what are your options?

One of the things that I love about cruising is the chance to try different things. Things that you might only sometimes be able or willing to try.

Along with experiences, food and drinks are on that list. I am not the biggest of drinkers, so I don’t usually buy the Deluxe/Ultimate/Cheers/Premium drink package while cruising. I have done the math and don’t feel that I could consume enough alcohol (and be able to function) to make it worth it.

However, the drink packages that include everything but alcohol are my thing. With these, you get everything from water to milkshakes and everything in between. Of course, every cruise line does this differently, and some don’t include drink packages. So make sure that you do your research beforehand and pick the drink package that will work best for you.

Mocktails (non-alcoholic drinks) are so yummy and a great way to get your money’s worth while cruising. Plus, you still get the feeling of a tropical drink in your hand without the added alcohol.

Cuddles on the Beach mocktail

Drink recipe for Cuddles on the Beach, a mocktail (non-alcoholic) version of the Sex on the Beach drink.

Watermelon Mint Cooler

This is made from lemonade and watermelon syrup. Fresh sprigs of mint just make you feel even more like you are on vacation.

Blueberry Nojito

This mocktail is made from blueberry purée, lime juice, simple syrup, and fresh mint. A Blueberry Nojito would make a good dessert drink.

It’s got the taste of sour patch kids in a glass. A a great after dinner drink.

Honey Blackberry Mint Mocktails

This honey blackberry mint mocktail is refreshing, sweet (but not too sweet), delicious, and much healthier than a traditional cocktail… and best of all, it contains absolutely no refined sugar!

Raspberry Bellini Mocktail

This is a light and refreshing drink that paired perfectly with our lunch.

Tropical crush

Tropical crush is one of the mocktails Royal Caribbean serves up. It is made with pineapple juice, mango, and yellow edition Red Bull and served over ice.

Coco loco mocktail

Coco locos are the signature cocktails on Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at Coco Cay. You can request it on the cruise ships too. The non-alcoholic option of this drink is made with tropical fruit juices and grenadine.

Coconut-Lime Cucumber Mocktails

Coconut-Lime Cucumber Mocktails are refreshing, tasty, and alcohol-free! Cool cucumber, slightly sweet coconut, tart lime, and fragrant mint make this mocktail an ideal summer aperitif!

Blue Lagoon Mocktail

This beautiful blue drink immediately takes me away to a Caribbean island! I can hear the steel drums now…you can find me by the swimming pool.

Hugs on the Beach

The fruity drink is a great drink to have as a side to any pool. The combination of cranberry, peach, orange juice and grenadine make the perfect tropical mocktail.

Of course there are always the old stand-byes like a Strawberry Daiquiri.

Pina colada, or my favorite a Pina Colava/Lava Flow

Banana Daiquiri

Or Mud slide, basically a chocolate milkshake.

There are so many different recipes out there for mocktails there is no reason to drink plan soda when you have a drink package. Ask your bartender for suggestions or see if they have a mocktail menu to you to look at I bet you will find some new and exciting options.
